  20. Milk of magnesia is a suspension of solid magnesium hydroxide, Mg(OH)2, in water. This solid can be made by adding a solution of sodium hydroxide, NaOH, to a solution of magnesium chloride, MgCl2, which causes Mg(OH)2 to precipitate and leaves sodium chloride in solution.
